Managed hosting

Managed hosting and application operations

Hosting is only cheap until the day it is not. Most of what gets sold as hosting is a control panel and nobody watching it - until a certificate expires on a Saturday, or a restore is attempted for the first time in the middle of an outage. We run applications on local infrastructure, watch them, patch them, and rehearse the restore before you need it.

Someone whose job it is when the server stops

Local, low-latency infrastructure

Servers hosted in South Africa, because the round trip to a European data centre is paid on every single request, and your users feel all of it.

Monitoring that reaches a person

Uptime, response time, disk, memory, queue depth and certificate expiry watched continuously, with alerts routed to someone who can act rather than to a dashboard nobody has open.

Patching and maintenance

Operating system and runtime patching on an announced schedule, staged, with a rollback path - so a security update does not arrive as an unplanned outage.

Backups and rehearsed restores

Scheduled off-server backups, a written restore procedure, and restores actually performed on a schedule. A backup nobody has ever restored is not a backup, it is a hope.

You probably need this if…

  • Your application is hosted overseas and local users say it feels slow
  • Nobody is certain when a backup was last successfully restored
  • The developer who set the server up has moved on with the credentials
  • An expired certificate or a full disk has taken you offline before

What you get

  • Provisioned, hardened server and deployment pipeline
  • TLS certificates issued and renewed automatically
  • Uptime, resource and certificate expiry monitoring
  • Scheduled off-server backups with a documented restore procedure
  • A named escalation path and an agreed response window

Everything we produce is yours, including the discovery document - whether or not the build goes ahead.

Managed hosting: common questions

Do you host inside South Africa?

Yes, by default, which is why local users get local latency. This website and our own API run on exactly that setup, released by the same health-gated pipeline with automatic rollback that we would put in front of your application.

Can you take over a system somebody else built?

Usually. We start with a short migration audit covering what it runs on, what it depends on and where the data actually lives, then give you a written cutover plan with the risks stated plainly before anything moves.

Managed hosting: tell us what you need

Send a short description of the problem. You will get a straight answer on whether this is the right fit and what it would take.

  • A reply from a developer. Not a sales pipeline. The person who reads your message is the person who would do the work.

  • An honest answer on fit. If an off-the-shelf product solves your problem better than a custom build, we will tell you which one.

  • No obligation. A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Discovery output is yours either way.
