Cloud & DevOps
Cloud solutions and DevOps engineering
Most outages are not exotic. They are a manual deploy at 5pm, an expired certificate, or a backup nobody ever restored. We build the unglamorous infrastructure that removes those failure modes: health-gated releases, automatic rollback, monitored certificates and backups that get restore-tested.
Deploys that are boring, and stay boring
Zero-downtime releases
Atomic release directories with a symlink swap, a health gate on every deploy and automatic rollback when the new version fails to come up.
CI/CD pipelines
Build, test and deploy on every push to the main branch. Where a host blocks inbound access from cloud runners, we use self-hosted runners that poll outbound instead.
Local & hybrid hosting
South African VPS hosting where data residency, latency or cost rules out the big three, and hybrid setups where only part of the workload needs to stay local.
Backup & disaster recovery
Documented recovery objectives, automated off-box backups and scheduled restore drills - because an untested backup is a rumour.
You probably need this if…
- Deploys are manual, and only one person is willing to do them
- You have backups but have never restored one
- An outage is discovered by a customer rather than an alert
- Cloud spend keeps rising and nobody can explain why
What you get
- Infrastructure and network diagram
- Automated deployment pipeline with rollback
- Monitoring, alerting and log aggregation
- Backup schedule with tested restore procedure
- Documented runbook for common incidents
Everything we produce is yours, including the discovery document - whether or not the build goes ahead.
Cloud & DevOps: common questions
Do you only work with the big cloud providers?
No. We choose the host that fits the constraint. For South African workloads with data-residency or latency requirements, a local VPS is often cheaper and faster than a distant region - and we run production systems that way.
Can you take over infrastructure someone else built?
Yes. We start with an audit: what runs where, what the single points of failure are, and what happens if the current maintainer disappears. You get that as a written document before anything changes.
Cloud & DevOps: tell us what you need
Send a short description of the problem. You will get a straight answer on whether this is the right fit and what it would take.
A reply from a developer. Not a sales pipeline. The person who reads your message is the person who would do the work.
An honest answer on fit. If an off-the-shelf product solves your problem better than a custom build, we will tell you which one.
No obligation. A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Discovery output is yours either way.
